Alexandra Hetherington Breckenridge is an American actress. She began her career by playing minor roles in the teen comedy films Big Fat Liar (2002) and She's the Man (2006). In the FX series Dirt in the third season, she played reporter Willa McPherson. She also had an in-joint role on the short-lived show The Ex List. She was the lead character of Moira O'Hara in the first season of FX's American Horror Story, and played Kaylee in the season's third. She was Jessie Anderson in the AMC series The Walking Dead and Sophie in the NBC series This Is Us. She has voiced various characters on Family Guy, an animated comedy. Since the year 2019, she has appeared as Melinda "Mel" Monroe in the Netflix series Virgin River. Breckenridge was raised in Darien in Connecticut. She relocated to California with her mother when she was of 10. They lived in various places for a year before finally moving to Mill Valley. Breckenridge began to become interested in photography, acting as well as singing around the age of 13. She moved to Los Angeles with her mother when she was 15 years old, to pursue a career in acting.
